100 Days

Matthew's pre-school is celebrating 100 days of school on Friday. We had fun making a project in commemoration of the day.

Focused Fun

We enjoyed an afternoon of fun in Colorado Springs with the Plasterers. We went to Focus on the Family to play in their kid's area.

Denver Zoo

We decided to attempt the Free Day at the Denver Zoo on MLK day. It was crowded, but we had lots of fun. Matthew and Tyler both loved the snakes and fish. Tyler loved the peacocks. He kept saying with much enthusiasm and excitement "there's another one!"

Climbing Rocks

Steve has been on vacation for the last week and has really been enjoying the time off. He's also been productive - he installed 7 new recessed can lights in our living room. It's a big improvement and he did a very professional job. Thanks Darlin'!

So after being inside for too many days with sickness, holiday festivities, projects, and cleaning we HAD to get outside. We headed to the hills to one of our favorite places to hike - Falcon Park. The forecast calls for a 60 degree day. The boys and I climbed on as many rocks as we could and found lots of great stick guns. Oh, and no, Matthew is not wearing a dress. We managed to get out of the house with only a light sweatshirt for Matthew so he ended up wearing my vest.

My Little Shavers

We got the boys toy shaving kits for Christmas. They are having a blast imitating Daddy.

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Happy Birthday, Matthew!! Five years old today. What a sweet boy you are. I love you very much!
Matthew wanted a red Jet cake for his birthday. I found a picture and description on the internet that I copied. But I didn't know the red food coloring makes frosting taste bitter. Even though Matthew asked for chocolate cake he ended up not liking the cake at all because of the cake and frosting flavor. Oh well, he was still pretty excited that he got a plane cake.

Matthew's Song

When Matthew was 9 months old I took a trip back to Maine to see my parents. On the way we had a lay over in one of the airports and I started making up a song to sing to him when he got cranky. I still sing it to him once in a while and recently he wanted to make up more words. This is what we have so far.

Trinity Pre-school Christmas Program

Wednesday, December 17, 2008 - Matthew had his Christmas program for his preschool class. He had his very own line to say. He wouldn't practice it at home and was making a stink about going to his program, but once he got there he did a great job.

We were so proud of him!
He was singing "be near me Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay. Close by me forever and love me I pray".

I was trying to get a nice picture in their matching sweaters from Grandma, but they were tired of sitting still.
