Note from School

When picking up Matthew after school today I noticed a note in his box. "Uh oh" I thought and started to read the note from his teacher. Then my jaw dropped, I laughed, and when we got home Steve had a talk with his son.

A NOTE FROM: Ms. Betty
To the Parents of: Matthew V.
Date: 10/30/2008

Matthew was playing outside on one of the climbers and was caught peeing off of it. We talked about where we go to the bathroom. He sat in time-out. But please talk to him agin about this. Thanks!

Boys will be boys?!?! I guess there was no tree to stand behind. He was strongly encouraged to make it to the bathroom next time.

Face Off

We carved pumpkins yesterday. We had to stop in the middle and run over to see Bill, but eventually we got them carved. We have to wait to put them out on the front step so the squirrels don't eat them! Every time we pull into the garage Tyler excitedly yells "there's my pumpkin". Of course, I'm the only one who understands what he is saying, but it sure is darn cute!

Monster Mash

Matthew helped me make cupcakes for his preshcool.
He did an awesome job!

Fall Fun Fair

Redeemer Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran team up every year to do the Fall Fun Fair.

He's a happy dog!

Ninja Power!

Orange and White

We caught up with the White's for some fall fun in Parker. Ashlyn had lots of fun with the boys. Haunted greenhouse, face painting, a blow up balloon maze, pony ride and junk food. What more could a kid want?

She's a natural!

I think I have puppy love!

Aren't they cute!!

Chance to Miss

I had the rare opportunity of going to visit my family all by myself. Steve was very gracious to give me five days away and it was fabulous to have a break from responsibility.

I stayed with Scott and Shelley, my brother and sister-in-law, and their three dogs. They live in the small town of Garfield, WA about an hour south of Spokane.

Kady Grindle, my niece at 4 months old.

The Girls (me, Mom, Kady, Valerie, and Shelley)

The Family (minus Steve, at home with Matthew and Tyler, and Shelley who decided one photo was enough)

Valerie, Kady, and I went apple picking. It was a fabulous afternoon. Kady especially enjoyed when we pressed cider.

She makes the best faces!

I got the best welcome home. The boys tackled me and wouldn't let me go. I felt so loved and appreciated and am convinced that a few days away once in a while is good for all involved!

Trike-A-Thon

Matthew had a trike-a-thon at his pre-school a couple weeks ago. He was so proud of the little sign I made with Superman stickers. He'll soon be ditching the trike for a big boy bike for his birthday. I can't wait to help him learn to ride a bike and move into another big boy part of his life.

Tumbling Fun

Mondays are tough, but I've found the best way to survive is to plan something that gets us out of the house. The key is I have to have just as much fun or be able to sit down! So this past Monday we headed to Lilly Gulch Rec Center. They have open gym for an hour in the gymnastics center that has balance beams, a trampoline, agility course, a foam pit and lots of soft mats to land on. The boys had a blast and I got right in there with them.

Chatfield Botanic Gardens

We joined the Benfields for a morning at Chatfield Botanic Gardens. There's an old blacksmith shop where we found a Praying Mantis, lots of garden both flower and vegetable. We saw the chickens, horses, sheep, goats and threw rocks in the creek.

Trey, Reid, and Matthew

They had so much fun playing in the hay in the barn.

Treyton (almost 2) and Tyler (2)

Looks real doesn't it? There was a porcupine too that I didn't let the boys touch.

That grin - it kills me!

Pumpkin Patch Pals - actually they kept trying to roll the pumpkins down the hill when I was attempting to get their photo.

Vineyard in the Backyard

We have a beautiful grape arbor growing on the fence in our backyard that belongs to our neighbor. The agreement is that if the grapes are on our side we get to eat them. The boys have been having tons of fun doing just that!

Pining for Aspens

We headed out to Pine, CO last Sunday and I was looking forward to spending some time in the golden Aspens of fall. Little did I know that Pine Valley Ranch Park has no Aspen trees!! So while I didn't get to enjoy the fall colors we did have fun playing in the creek and eating a picnic lunch.
